How to Use NFC Feature

 

  • A POS system with NFC (Near Field Communication) feature can be a great tool for customer loyalty programs and a top-up points system.
  • The NFC top-up points system can be an effective way to use it for several business scenarios. This can be used in a university canteen.
  • Ex:
  • To set up the system, the canteen would need to issue NFC loyalty cards to students. students would need to top-up their NFC Cards with the appropriate number of points by paying cash to the canteen.
  • Once they added points, they can redeem the points at the point of sale. The student needs to present the NFC card to the cashier when making their purchase. The cashier can tap the NFC Card and then redeem the relevant amount from the card.
  • Students will get a receipt with the available balance and the purchased items’ details.
  • With a POS system that has NFC capability, customers can simply tap their NFC card and earn loyalty points. This process is quick and convenient.

2.1 How to Activate the NFC Option

 

  • A POS system with NFC (Near Field Communication) feature can be a great tool for customer loyalty programs and a top-up points system.
  1. Login to POS Back Office Webportal
  2. Select “ Settings ” from main menu

2.2 How to Activate the NFC Option

 

  1. Go to the “ Software Setup”
  2. Tick ON “ Customer Read via NFC” button
  3. Click “Update”

3.1 How to Add a Customer and Generate NFC

 

  • After activating the NFC option from back office, then need to generate the NFC and registered a customer.
  1. POS App main menu
  2. Select “ New Sale ”
  3. Click the “Customer” icon
  4. Click the “Add New Customer” icon and fill details

3.2 How to Add a Customer and Generate NFC

 

  1. After entering details click the “Save” button
  2. Click on “Generate NFC” and tap the NFC Card on the device

4.1 How to Add Points to a Customer (Top-up)

 

  • When a customer registered for the pre-paid top-up NFC System, the customer needs to add points.
  • When a customer’s balance runs low, they can top-up their card by adding more funds to their account.
  • Ex:
    • If a university student pays $ 100 as pre-paid NFC Card, add 100 points to the system under Loyalty points.
  1. Login to POS Back Office Webportal
  2. Select “ Customers ” from the main menu

4.2 How to Add Points to a Customer (Top-up)

 

  1. Go to the “Loyalty”
  2. Click “Add Points” button
  3. Enter points amount
  4. Select the customer from dropdown
  5. Click “Add Points”

5.1 How to Perform an NFC Transaction

 

  • A pre-paid top-up NFC card system can be an efficient and convenient way for some businesses to manage transactions and provide a cashless way to pay.

     Ex: University Canteen

    The canteen issues pre-paid cards to students that can be loaded with a certain amount of money. These cards will be NFC and they can be linked to a student's account in a POS System.

    Students can then use their NFC cards to make purchases at the canteen. They simply tap or swipe their card at the point of sale, and the transaction amount is deducted from their pre-paid balance.

    When a student's balance runs low, they can top-up their card by adding more funds to their account.

5.2 How to Perform an NFC Transaction

 

  1. POS App main menu
  2. Select “ New Sale ”
  3. Click on the item’s student purchases
  4. Tap the NFC Card
  5. Popup dialog box with available balance
  6. Click OK
  7. Click the “Charge” button and proceed

 

( It will print a receipt with balance points)
